Description

It was here, in the Campo de Ourique neighbourhood, that Fernando Pessoa lived the last 15 years of his life. This lively cultural venue contains a library and Pessoa’s original bedroom, with some of the writer’s original furniture and diverse personal objects, such as his typewriter, glasses and notebooks, on display. Opened in 1993, the renovation project on the building retained the original façade, central staircase and the poet’s room. On the façade, quotations from Pessoa’s work occupy the spaces between the windows and door openings, and on the floor of the entrance one can find the writer’s astral chart engraved in stone.
